An oil extraction machine (also called an oil expeller or oil press) is used to extract oil from oilseeds and nuts such as groundnut, sunflower, sesame, mustard, soybean, coconut, and castor seeds.
Types of oil extraction machines
Cold Press Oil Machine
1. Operates at low temperatures (typically below 50°C).
2.Produces high-quality oil with more natural flavor and nutrients.
3.Seeds are heated before or during pressing.Lower oil yield than hot pressing.
4.Suitable for premium edible oils.
Hot Press Oil Machine
1.Higher oil yield.
2.Commonly used for commercial oil production.
Screw Oil Press (Oil Expeller)
1.The most widely used type.
2.A rotating screw compresses the seeds to extract oil.
3.Available in small, medium, and industrial capacities
Hydraulic Oil Press
1.Uses hydraulic pressure instead of a screw.
2.Produces high-quality oil with minimal heat.
3.Best suited for small-batch or specialty oils.
Main components
1.Seed hopper
2.Screw shaft (or hydraulic press)
3.Pressing chamber
4.Heating system (for hot press models)
5.Oil outlet
6.Oil cake outlet
7.Electric motor and gearbox
Working principle
1.Clean the seeds to remove impurities.
2.Feed the seeds into the hopper.
3.The screw or hydraulic system compresses the seeds.
4.Oil flows out through small openings.
5.The remaining solid residue (oil cake) is discharged separately.
Typical capacities
1.Mini machines: 3–10 kg/hour (home or small business)
2.Small commercial: 20–100 kg/hour
3.Medium industrial: 100–500 kg/hour
4.Large industrial: 1–20 tonnes/day or more
Applications
1.Small oil mills
2.Farms
3.Food processing businesses
4.Cold-pressed oil production
5.Commercial edible oil manufacturing
When choosing an oil extraction machine, consider:
1.The type of seed you plan to process.
2.Required production capacity.
3.Whether you need cold-pressed or hot-pressed oil.
4.Power source (single-phase or three-phase electricity).
5.Ease of cleaning and maintenance.
